Northern Colorado Amateur Radio Club |
ARRL Colorado Section Manager Amanda Alden, K1DDN has started a net for ARRL members and non-members in the Colorado section. This "net" will hopefully be a place where Colorado hams can ask questions of ARRL leadership and request help, guidance, club support, and technical support. The net will meet on the second Monday of each month at 7:00 pm Mountain time. These nets will be on ARRL Affiliated Club/Repeater system to host this net each month. The Fun Machine WE0FUN is a Colorado-based system with dedicated links in Colorado with little "regular" traffic. WE0FUN provides paths into the net via analog RF, Echolink, DStar, YSF, NXDN, P25, DMR, M17, and the NCARC Buckhorn Repeater 447.700 – with 100 Hz tone.
Northern Colorado Amateur Radio Club will have its annual picnic, which will replace our regular meeting on September 21st, 2023, from 11 AM to 3:00 PM, at the North Lake Park Pavilion number 2, 2750 N. Taft Ave in Loveland. The club will supply burgers, hot dogs, chips, and drinks, and if you'd like, you can bring a dish to share with everyone. The event will start at noon and go around three o'clock. We also will have a Fox Hunt for all those who would like to join in. I hope to see everyone there. If you have trouble finding the pavilion, we will also be monitoring the Horsetooth, 447.275 repeater.
NCARC's general club meeting will be on Saturday, Aug 17, 2024. This month's presentation will be Ron and Bart presentation on the new TIDRADIO H3 radios. The club meetings are on the third Saturday of each month at the Golden Corral at 1360 Sculptor Dr, Loveland, CO. They open at 8:30 AM, and our meeting will start at 9:00; we will still be broadcasting our meetings on Zoom for those who may not be able to attend them live. We will send out Zoom credentials to all members before the meeting. If you did not receive a notice, please email treasurer@ncarc.net, and we will get you the link. Agendas for each club meeting are in the member's area alongside the other meeting minutes. This month's presentation on WWII radio.
The next NCARC Board of Directors meeting will be via Zoom on Tuesday, Aug 13th, 2024. Our board meetings are always open to any member, but we're not posting the Zoom link here to prevent meeting crashers (yes, this has become a real problem). If you want to join, email 'treasurer@ncarc.net', and you'll get the link back in the email. The meeting will start at 7:00 pm.
Remember that NCARC memberships expire at the end of the calendar year! Its fast and easy to renew by Paypal. We also accept checks if paypal isn't your thing. All the details are on our membership/renewal page.

If you have comments, topic suggestions, or questions for the net, please get in touch with president@ncarc.net. If you don't have a license and have questions you'd like to hear discussed on the air, please email those to the same address.

The term "Elmer" has the meaning of someone who provides personal guidance and assistance to all hams who need help. NCARC has developed our Elmer program to assist anyone who is in need of advice or assistance in setting up, removing, or just making fine adjustments with all amateur radio projects. If you need any assistance please email elmers@ncarc.net and thank you for supporting our program.
NCARC is happy to announce the launch of the new NCARC YouTube channel. While it's a little sparce right now, we're actively working to add more content. Please subscribe and check back often. We've got some of the latest tech net's there along with some fantastic presentations from our most recent hamfest. The latest addition is a great presentation on Chasing Satellites.
The club holds a net each Wednesday at 6:30 pm on the 447.275 repeater (100 Hz tone). This net starts as a formal net with check-ins and an opportunity to ask questions of the board and members. Then switches to an informal net where participants can chat about anything on their mind.
Attention: Should the 447.275 Horsetooth Repeater fail the NCARC Wednesday Club Net will promptly move to the 145.115 repeater (100Hz tone)
Got a comment on our repeaters? Something not working? Any other problem with our system?
Don't just talk about it on the air. Send us an email to TechFeedback@ncarc.net. Use this email to report any problems or suggest improvements. It will be read by those that can fix the problem.
We are happy to announce a partnership with RMHam. For the foreseeable future, our 447.275 repeater will be linked to the 447.750 RMHam repeater on Lee Hill (near Boulder). This extends the coverage of this linked repeater pair far into the Denver area and much further south including filling in a number of dead spots. The repeater is on 447.750 with a negative offset and requires a 141.3Hz CTCSS tone.
